When a story becomes a film
Some stories need more than a single day to be told.
Sylvia and Matthieu’s was one of them.
Their wedding wasn’t the beginning.
It was the chapter they had been waiting for the most.
The film was about connecting everything that had led them here.
Without ever losing sight of the emotion of the present moment.
Their wedding took place at Domaine des Rives de Sauteyrargues, in the Hérault, at the foot of the Pic Saint-Loup, near Montpellier.
A place filled with light, whose proximity to the Pic Saint-Loup gave it a very special meaning. A familiar landscape, deeply connected to their story, making this day even more meaningful.
My approach
This film didn’t begin on May 23, 2026.
It began several weeks earlier.
Through our conversations, their memories, the archive footage they shared with me, and everything that was already part of their story.
The aim wasn’t to write a script.
It was to understand what had connected them throughout all these years.
From this material, I built a true narrative structure.
Every sequence imagined before the wedding was designed to find its place naturally within the wedding day.
The footage filmed beforehand, the voices, the silences, the ambient sounds, the transitions and the rhythm of the edit were all conceived as chapters of the same story.
The wedding wasn’t the beginning.
It was the culmination.
This is the philosophy behind my Signature films:
to create a film that tells a story before it tells a wedding day.
The Signature collection allowed us to create a more authentic film and a true legacy, tracing our journey all the way to the commitment we made to one another.
